De hecho, hace unos años, un estudio de la City University of New York, demostró que pueden reconocerse en un espejo, tienen una excelente memoria y pueden diferenciar los objetos que contemplan sus ojos.
Este año, investigadores de la Universidad de París, han presentado sus conclusiones sobre lo que les hace felices a los delfines en cautividad. El ensayo se ha realizado con tres modos de trabajo: en el primero les dejaban solos para hacer lo que querían, en el segundo agregaban juguetes a la piscina y, en el tercero, jugaban con un entrenador humano. El psicólogo Csikszentmihalyi lo definió con su concepto: Flow. Es el estado de conciencia que experimentamos cuando nos encontramos completamente absortos en aquello que estamos haciendo y, de ese modo, ofrecemos a la empresa lo mejor de nuestras destrezas y habilidades. Son pura inspiración: marinan el desayuno en familia con hagelslag (virutas de chocolate), los niños van solos en bicicleta al colegio, tienen libertad académica en la escuela primaria sin deberes ni exámenes y tienen a su mejor Coach, su papá, en la puerta del colegio ya que el gobierno, con muy buen criterio, les impone «días sin paga».
Los holandeses eligen tiempo a cambio de dinero, ponen lo práctico por encima de lo lujoso, regresan al origen de las necesidades. Como dice Enrique Rojas, la felicidad consiste en moderar las expectativas: el delfín es feliz sólo con otear en el horizonte de la piscina la llegada de su entrenador.
No necesitamos profesores que nos enseñen Filosofía, ni Maestros cuyo saber no viene en los libros. Nuestra sociedad necesita lecciones de vida, esas olvidadas vidas de santos que nos acercan a una Inteligencia Superior.
