Cuando somos profetas fuera de nuestra tierra y hablamos de ella desde la frontera de lo castellanamente correcto, casi siempre relacionan a nuestra ciudad con la Tuna, ese grupo de estudiantes alegres, pícaros y amantes de la noche que, desde el siglo XIII, rondaban las calles de la villa utilizando la música para cortejar a las mujeres recitando canciones de amor debajo de su balcón con el noble propósito de obtener sus favores.
En aquella época, poco después de fundarse la Universidad de Salamanca por el monarca que nos regentaba con el apoyo divino, las clases sociales se encontraban muy marcadas pero el estudio salmantino daba cabida a todos, a ricos y a pobres, aunque con diferencias. A los ricos se le daban privilegios, comida y alojamiento y, los pobres, aquellos conocidos como «Capigorrones» por vestir capa y gorro negro, tenían que agudizar su ingenio, como Carpanta, para comer todos los días. Su oficio era recorrer todas las tabernas a cambio de aquella suculenta «sopa boba» que estaba hecha de las sobras de cada día.
En ese sentido, en España seguimos siendo «sopistas» y tenemos la mala costumbre de buscar fuera de casa lo auténtico u original cuando, en realidad, para encontrarlo, no hay que irse muy lejos. Para lograr la modernización del país y ponerlo en el mapa en el sitio que le corresponde, no necesitamos GPS. El cambio de aquella “España de chirigota y pandereta” que definió Unamuno, se logra haciendo que los ciudadanos nos impliquemos en Eventos como el que ha desbordado de Innovación, Creatividad e Ideas a Salamanca, durante esta semana, con la presencia de más de quinientas empresas y diez mil asistentes.
La Startup Olé 2018 que hemos celebrado es, haciendo honor al insigne Rector y parafraseando una de sus citas más celebres, «la renaciente maravilla académica palanca de mi visión de Castilla». Los «capigorrones del siglo XXI» que hemos participado ya en las cuatro ediciones del Evento, hemos pasado de ser súbditos a tomar las riendas de la responsabilidad política, para crear un Ecosistema en el que se produce la verdadera sinergia entre el universo empresarial y el planeta académico.
Además, puedo afirmar, con la certeza de mi experiencia, que la creación de startups es la herramienta más sostenible para generar empleo de calidad, riqueza sostenible y crear una sociedad próspera alineada a la Cuarta Revolución industrial. Por ese motivo, quiero defender la figura del emprendedor por encima incluso del empresario, aquel loable trabajador que invierte en su empresa el capital propio o ajeno con el único fin de obtener un rendimiento.
El emprendedor es un artista, es ese tuno contemporáneo que pone en valor su ingenio, su valentía, su audacia, su ilusión e incluso su insatisfacción laboral para realizar un cambio en la sociedad a través de la Innovación. Puede ser en ideas, productos o, simplemente en el modo de hacer las cosas, pero lo verdaderamente importante es que toma riesgos hacia aquel territorio desconocido, hacia el país donde habita la incertidumbre.
Startup Olé 2018 supone exponer en la Hospedería Fonseca al Guernica de Pablo Picasso, no como representación de una guerra no deseada («spam como se dice ahora»), sino como imagen, símbolo e icono del emprendimiento español, un referente de la Innovación y la Creatividad, un baluarte de la imagen universal de la Marca España.
Desde el Liceo de Innovación nos sentimos orgullosos de este proyecto ya que entendemos la Innovación como un proceso de mejora continua, reinvención constante y que pone en valor los intangibles que posee cada compañía o cada persona. Nos sentimos satisfechos ya que el barbecho que realizamos con la creación de las primeras startups salmantinas, en el lustro prodigioso de 2004-2009 en el Vivero de la Cámara de Comercio, comienza a dar sus frutos.
Con esa composición de lugar, hemos escuchado de forma activa las necesidades de los profesionales que nos han visitado en las tres ediciones anteriores de la Startup Olé, para crear nuestra Escuela Pública de Innovación. Desde este espacio abierto, ayudamos a los profesionales a subirse al iceberg, les despertamos la imaginación para que puedan ver más allá y damos rienda suelta a sus pensamientos más diversos para que desemboquen en nuevas ideas, proyectos o servicios.
En la Escuela de Innovación del Liceo de Innovación, reinterpretamos la Innovación y la convertimos en un proceso de aprendizaje invisible que proyecta lo mejor del profesional hacia su entorno. Nuestra función es dinamizar las actitudes de los emprendedores para desarrollar su perfil más genuino, con el fin de que sean ellos mismos los promotores del cambio proactivo en su compañía, puedan vencer sus propias resistencias y trabajen fuera de su zona de confort.
Desde este oficio de canteros empresariales, estamos disfrutando de resultados tangibles como los éxitos de la empresa Rookiebox que ganó II Edición de los Premios impulsa visión de RTVE con nuestro Acompañamiento innovador y que está ganando importancia e influencia en Internet como Red Social por y para la Cultura o la creación de la primera startup del ámbito «proptech» de Castilla y León e-Property.es que propone la digitalización del sector de la Administración de Fincas o la manera innata de surfear que tiene el Instituto de Paz, Desarrollo Personal y Liderazgo, empresa amiga de la Universidad de Salamanca.
Aunque suene utópico, en el Liceo de Innovación, somos idealistas, y creemos que la mejor receta para ser innovador es seguir a Bruce Lee y «Be Water, my friend», pensamiento que comparte con nosotros el CEO de Startup Olé, Emilio Corchado. Este proyecto «made in Spain» nos enseña que, la innovación natural, además de incolora, inodora e insípida, tiene que hacer referencia a ese principio taoísta del Wu wey como acción natural no forzada. Sólo tenemos que adaptarnos, anticiparnos y usar, de forma correcta, las fuerzas, tanto propias como las del entorno.
No tenemos que usar la fuerza para luchar contra la fuerza, es mejor ser como el agua y dejar que la corriente fluya sobre tu oponente. Es los que, en imita, llamamos Innovación líquida, amparados en el filósofo Zygmunt Bauman. Esa necesidad que tenemos todos los seres humanos de modificar la realidad en la que vivimos y comprender que, la única posible y necesaria manera de evitar los conflictos sociales y mejorar nuestras condiciones de vida, es la vía del cambio y la mejora continua.
